THE NEW FORMAT AND LOOK FOR DATA BASE IS A REAL IMPROVEMENT. I
DID HOWEVER HAVE A PROBLEM TRYING TO USE THE CHAT ROOM A FEW
DAYS AGO, BUT THAT MIGHT BE DUE TO MY INEXPERIENCE, WILL TRY
AGAIN. IT IS A GREAT DEAL OF WORK FOR YOU,LARRY, TO KEEP THE
DATA BASE GOING AND IT IS WIDELY APPRECIATED. ARTE ET MARTE.

I was recently sent the location of your web-site. I was sadden
to read about CWO Buckle's death. I too remember the Man fondly
with his "infamous" speech he would give at the
beginning of each course. Specifically the one where he would
find some poor unsuspecting female and with that pace stick that
I swear was attached to his hand he would stand in front of her
and wave that stick inches from her nose, using that baritone
voice that could shake your could and exclaim, “Missy, you are
going to WAR!!!” Somehow though he never picked us on weapons
type … I like to think that he had respect for us in his own
way.

Was trying to see the database to determine if my father (L.B.
Screaton)is listed and to see if I am listed. Database was not
accessible.
I apologize for the inaccessibility.
The Server crashed yesterday & has yet to be repaired.
Should be back again soon. (Larry)

Just back in town on my UN leave from Africa and decided to scan
the data base to see what was up. Sorry to hear about Billy
Buckle, excellent old soldier and I can tell a lot of stories
about my run in with him during training at CFSAOE. Looking
forward to attending the Western EME Bonspiel during my leave,
so I should see all you retired dudes from Western Canada at the
meet & Greet. BE THERE, SUPPORT THE CAUSE & HAVE FUN!!!!

Sorry to hear about Billy Buckle. I'm sure there are a lot of us
who remember him. He was a character by his own definition. He
was mean but you just had to like him. Farewell Mr. Buckle.

I thought that I would sign in as the D/W of Sgt. Major (now
Padre) Don Chisholm. However I also have the honour of being the
daughter of CQMS John Greenwood an original member of RCEME,
rebadged from RCOC in Europe in 1944. My Dad is still living
here in Kingston on his own, and goes to the RCHA Club to have a
drink and a visit with his buddies every Saturday night, and
Wednesday and Sunday afternoon. Does anyone out there know my
Dad? Helen

This is to advised all that CWO William(Bill) G. Buckle RCR has
passed away in Ottawa February 5,2001. He served from 1950 to
1985 with distinction !We,many members of the EME Branch knew
Billl as the RSM of CFSAOE Borden late 70s and early 80s,now
CFSEME. Mr Buckle as we all got to know him ,was and outstanding
soldier,a man of courage and determination earning the respect
of all me met and served with! I recommend that his name be
entered in the RCEME Deceased Section of the site as a most
special guest of the RCEME-LORE-EME Association. CWO Bill Buckle
will also be welcomed by his already departed RCEME-LORE-EME
friends in the Big Workshop. Pro Patria Arte et Marte

Fantastic, Larry you have done a job bar none. I have picked up
some address,s and will now sit here and chase down some
"seasoned" friends, do not like the phrase old. I
think that is used for all the members that have gone on to
greener places.

Your efforts in maintaining this site is appreciated. It is a
good way to keep current on the lives of 'old cronies'. Sadly
enough occasionally we hear of former comrades being BER'd to
that great workshop in the sky. Hopefully they arrive with a
properly completed 2149.

Hi Larry, A lot of nice improvements in the new version . . Easy
to navigate and works real good with Netscape. I'm sure you
spend a lot of time in the maintenance of the site. I talked to
Mel Stoney (who's name I seen in the data base) the other day.
We were drill instructors in RT Coy back in the School in 1958
and I hadn't seen him since. So it's sure handy for re-kindling
old acquaintances

Like the changes - did not realize that this was a one man
operation - last fall I typed rceme in the netscape search - and
low and behold I found this site. I check it on a regular bases
for two reasons 1) who is new and 2) I left the Corp.in 75 and
had lost track of all the poeple I had met and have found and
correspond with many. Thanks Larry! Don D
