Just a note to wish everyone a very joyous holiday season and to thank you for your support in the creation of the RCEME Database. Many of you still do not have an email address so I felt this would be the best place to post my thanks.

Signed in way back in the summer after finding this great web site. I hit on it several times a week to see who has joined. Larry, Ron Roy (former career manager 1980s) said to say hello. I have contacted many old friends. It seems the password controversy is over as there are no new entries. Keep on with the great work you are doing.

Was just looking for some familiar names. Retired medically and now living in Greenwood, NS. It's nice to be able to still have a place to remember.

Larry --I really appreciate what you did for me.I could open THERCEMEDATABASE but the pages were not highlighted so couldn't enter, several suggestions from Larry were to no avail so he gave me a custumized web page now I'm there. Thanks again Larry. Any one else having the same problem I would like to have mine rectified. Lloyd . When mine is up and running again I will let you know

Great job on the site Larry. I also had an excellent time on Nov 11th. Once again I went to the Ryley AB Legion Branch 192 (my home town). Last year they had me carry the Canadian Flag and this year they requested that I lay a wreath on behalf of Peacekeepers. Quite and honour for me. Keep up the great work.

Attended the Remembrance Day Ceremonies at the RCEME Gates here in Kingston again.
Another good turn out. With the old maint bldg gone (torn down) we all met at the
Thompson Drill hall which was locked due to flooding. Although cold we withstood and
then marched proudly to "OUR CENOTAPH". A reception was held afterwards at the
WO & Sgt's mess in the dining room. Again and as always the Colonel Commandant
(Col. Murray Johnston), Branch Advisor (Col. Gillespie) and our Branch Chief (CWO Roy)
were in attendance. CWO John Vass the BCWO was also there. The parade was marshalled
by one of my proteges MWO Mike McKeegan who did an excellent job (not counting the
modular). All in all well done. Several other dignitaries were also in attendance, too
numerous to mention. A few friends I will mention were Joe Sanford, Art Rest,
Jerry Apps and Colin Cherry amongst many others. Our Padre Rev. Don Chisholm was again
way ahead of himself in his outstanding work in front of us all. I really enjoyed the
way he took the public today and the old Sgt. Major Chisholm put them on parade as
well (but in a much friendlier way). It was also great to talk afterwards with Don's
darling wife Helen. They are both happy to be back in Kingston. ARTE ET MARTE.

During my RCEME days our call sign was "Bluebell"

For example:" we're in trouble, send bluebell" etc.

Question is this, where and why did we get that particular call sign?
I've been asked the question by an X Navy type and I sure would like to
provide an answer.

Thanks

Ed Murphy
If anybody knows the answer please forward it to Ed. Thanks, Larry

Well done, Larry. I last signed the guest book on 31 May, just before the reunion.
Unfortunately, didn't make it this year, as it conflicted with the 30 year reunion
of my Staff College Course at Foxhole U. The e-mail address is for work; don't have
one at home yet. Arte et Marte from Gen (Retd) Goodwrench (younger than John Sloan)

We must make every effort to make it known.
