Larry, what's with all these spam entries?? While I don't come here often, I do like to read what people have posted & to see this stuff that's been recently posted, makes it bad for the site, I think anyways. Still, I do enjoy popping in now & than. Cheers!

Note: What you sometimes see here is called "Guestbook Spam". I am trying to work on a new guestbook as time permits to prevent this from happening. However when I do check the guestbook I delete the unwanted ones quite often. Larry.

Rereading some messages makes me realise that the weather is taken for granted down here. I wait for the warmth that comes later in the day to get in some prime golfing. The only thing I wish for is some CURLING. Dang it all!! I tried to get it started here but it seems that the Devos ownership of the Sportplex feels that equipment is too expensive. Maybe I should bite the bullet and cruise up to the Frozen North and get me a game. Regards to all the RCEME rats whom I remember with good thoughts. Too many of the older hands are passing off to the LAD in the sky. God bless 'em all.

Hello to all my old friends. Looking forward to a good 2005. 2004 was great. I am working on my third Jeep restoration, a 1953 M-38A1. I put them back to the original factory specs and condition. Start with the bare frame and finish with a new body. So far I have completed a 1946 CJ2A and a 1952 M-38. Strange, I can get parts faster now than when I worked on them 50 years ago. I am trying to solve a puzzle for my 87 year old mother-in-law who gave me a piece of paper some time ago which had details of her sweetheart from WW2.According to her his name was Lou Lapere and he served in England stationed around Bedford when she was a WAAF at Luton Hoo. She remembers him as being a Lance-Corporal and then a Sargeant. However, I have trailed records and can only find an Oliver Lapierre who died on Feb.17 1947 whose service No. is SD/96031 and who is buried in Greenfield. Nobody by that name killed in Korean war and otherwise drawn a blank. Would make an old lady very happy if I can find out what happened to him. Many thanks for any help. Jill Freestone

I was a member of RCEME in Edmonton, AB from 1956-1964. Would like to see more information on the site, like, for instance, where events are happening! Also looking for somewhere where I can buy a collar badge for my #1s. Lost one of the badges off mine.

Retired this past Aug 30th & moved to Southern Ontario & am working as a welder/fitter for a company just north of Waterdown Ont., where we make handling equipment for the Steel Industry here in Canada & the U.S. While I am enjoying the civilian world, I still miss the workshops to some extent. Cheers! EP

Will be heading down to Lahr on Oct. 25/2004 to snap photos of all remaining CFB Lahr/4 CMBG maint facilities. It would be fantastic if any ex-Lahr maintainers would send me a short note mentioning the building No. and/or describing where they worked. Example: CFB Lahr B Maint (which building(s), compound(s), etc.), North, Central Margs, etc. Also, where did you spend off-duty time? A particular gasthaus, etc.? You can also call me at: +491702863718 Thanks and best regards

Staff Sgt. Victor A. Fletcher is my father. Served in 4TH ARMORED TROOP WORKSHOP RCEME which was first called RCOC and was originally formed in Toronto. I am searching for a copy of the UNIT BOOK (1945/46) giving the history of the unit for my Dad. He is now 81 and would dearly love to have a copy of this book to review once again. Of course I would be happy to pay for any charges incurred if anyone can provide this to my Dad and I. Tks so much, Sue
