I had to check the book since I last signed in probably over a year ago. I have a problem accepting all the nice comments about the bonspiels and suddenly realize that Florida, although having plenty of ice available is not the place that
understands curling. I have tried to interest the Rich de Vos arena people to try curling but without stones, there is no one who will invest time, money and effort. I came close to introducing the sport here but all to no avail. I wonder if there are any "old"
stones hiding away in some abandoned or unused curling club that I could spirit away some day?
I am looking forward to next year's (2003) golf tournament in Borden as I will be there. Anyone have dates? I want to go to the Green Monster reunion afterwards and make a long trip from Florida more interesting.
Nice going Dave with the KIA list. Larry---you still have my compliments on the site. Will send some 41
WKSP--4 Fd WKSP pix some day soon.

Great site, Larry. My brother, Tom, was a RCEME lad, who did his 2 yr. apprenticeship in Kingston, '64-'66. Sadly, Tom was killed in 1993. I only recognized one name from that time (Wayne Gilchrist), but hopefully there are others registered. Would like to hear from some of them; i.e., Donnie Roland, McLeod, Stretch, Joe .. any who chummed with Tom during that period. Am

Just returned from the memorial service at the RCEME Gates. The reunion this weekend was again a success & well organized. Next year will be our 25th Anniversary of the RCEME Association and we are expecting a real great turn out for that
reunion. The planning will start in early September. You should all plan on
attending right away & mark it on your calendar. It will be held during the first "FULL"

I want to thank all the members who took the time to thank me for my work on the RCEME Honour Rolls.
I received an e-mail to-day from Mike Ewert CSM of Maint. Coy in Gagetown, requesting permission to use the data to establish a Memorial to our Fallen Comrades. Anyone who wishes to establish a Memorial to our fallen comrades doesn’t have to ask my permission to use the data. I think of it as a thoughtful jester and would encourage others to do the same. I have given thought to and if there were enough support I would like to start or ask the Association to start a fund raiser to have the Names of Our fallen Comrades placed on Plaques which could be mounted on the RCEME Memorial Gates in Kingston. I have no idea at this time what the cost would be however since the gates are already there I would think the cost would be relatively little. If there is interest in pursuing this as a project please let me know your feelings and I will get some prices.

Hats off to Dave Davidson for his work on paying homage to the RCEME soldiers who died for their country in World War II and Korea. For those who have not seen it yet, NDHQ (sometimes they do useful things there) now has a webpage where you can look up our comrades and their dependants who died in Germany while serving with our NATO brigade. You can check it out at http://admieapp.forces.gc.ca/pwg-tag This site will take you to the postwar Canadian cemetaries in Werl etc. You can then view photos of the CF headstones of guys who are buried there. If memory serves, we buried two from 4 Fd Wksp during my time there (1965-68), Cfn Lyle Mordy (a Veh Tech in Veh Pl) and Cpl Paul (an Aircraft Tech in Aircraft Platoon). Photos of their headstones are both on this site. Thanks again, Dave.

I was just reading the guest book which I do quite regularly and I couldn’t help notice Wes
Kirby’s comments, quote “ just checking in to say hello to everyone, i.e mailed a couple of
friends but never got a reply.” You can rest assured Wes , if they didn’t answer your email they never were your friends in the first place, because friends or even acquaintances will take time to touch base with you and say hello once in a while.
As a courtesy all email should be acknowledged, even if only to say F.O. All you people who

Just logged on to see how this site was progressing. Just got
home from the UNMEE tour in Africa and looking forward to
staying in Canada for a couple of months at least. Charlie, I
and family will be travelling & Camping our way to Cape
Breton starting 28th of July, so if you see a GM truck bearing
Alberta plates & pulling a fifth wheel on the road, be sure
to wave. Excellent expansion to the site Larry, so keep up the
good work.

I like the format---the rogues gallery needs more input---lost
trails seem not to be answered very fast but I hope that we will
find our lost pals. Hope that I will be visiting in 2003 for the
big green reunion.

I was wondering if anyone had pictures of the last PeaceKeeping
medal ceremony mainly = the one with the RCMP Officer, from Drumheller, Alberta. Reason I ask is he has set up a shop in
town, and has his beret on display, but no picture. Thought it
might be nice (If it is allowed) to give him one for the
display. Thanks Bonnie
